Growth Model – Detect your BRANCHES for beginners

This questionnaire enables any Christian to take a look at the BRANCHES they currently have in place in their lives. BRANCHES is the Christians Ministry Tools that enables them to be instruments in the Kingdom of God. Step 1 is to know what tools there are and then which have you already used in your ministry. Activate all these Ministry tools and then start growing in them.

We will issue as certificate at the end of the test. It is our desire to be of service you as you grow spiritually.

Excitement is something so close to you that you literally do it several times a day. It is something so important and personal that we can not go a day without doing it. For every person this is different, but for all it is a powerful force of excitement. It makes every day worth it.

Discovering it has got to do with knowing what makes you SAD, MAD and GLAD.

Excitement

You have discovered what makes you sad. The thing that makes you sadder than anything else. Will make you sad no matter how happy you are.

Spiritual gifts are discussed in different areas of the New Testament and it is made clear that the Holy Spirit gives it to whomever He chooses.  We function in these gifts if and when it is needed.

In BRANCHES we make a difference between Body Gifts and Spiritual Gifts. The only reason why we make a difference is to put more attention on all the gifts. Spiritual gifts refer to gifts that arrive in the moment needed. Body Gifts refer to gifts that are more permanent in their use.

Spiritual Gifts

I have discovered specific gifts that functions from time to time while I do the work of ministry. These are one of the following.

  1. Utterance (Word) of wisdom
  2. Utterance (Word) of knowledge
  3. Faith
  4. Compassion
  5. Fuel
  6. Gifts of healing
  7. Working of Miracles
  8. Prophecy
  9. Distinguish between spirits
  10. Interpretation (translation) of tongues.
  11. Various kinds of tongues

Temperaments are the most simplistic way to understand human behavior. Most people learn to evaluate and identify this before personality types as they are much simpler. However, temperaments can vary within people for situation to situation. It is not as permanent as personality types. Nevertheless it is a good way to start investigating human behavior.

Character

You can identify the temperament of team members that enables you to serve the Kingdom by using them within their strengths. These temperaments are

  1. Sanguine
  2. Melancholy
  3. Choleric
  4. Phlegmatic

Body Gifts

I have discovered specific gifts that remains on me that has become part of my daily life. These are one of the following.

  1. Exhortation
  2. Contribution
  3. Acts of mercy
  4. Administration
  5. (Leads) Speech
  6. Service
  7. Spiritual Language
  8. Leaders
  9. Helpers

Although different denominations call their Church leaders different names, the biblical reference to a leader of a church is Elder. In this questionnaire we refer to a leader of a church as an Elder and any person appointed by Eldership to assist with practical assistance in Ministry will be called a Deacon.

Elders are appointed by a representation of Body of Christ

Deacons are appointed by Eldership.

The Bible is clear that it is good to desire these positions. It is positions of servant-hood and overseeing the Children of God.

Appointed Gifts

You are striving to be approved as an Elder or Deacon

The Five Fold Ministry appears in the Bible in the book of Ephesians Chapter 4. It comprises of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Shepherd and Teacher.

The book of BRANCHES deals with this under the Appointed Gifts Chapter.

The five fold ministry invests into your life through ministry.

History Victory is a tool addressed in BRANCHES and refers to the Authority we gain from overcoming personal struggles. All Christians struggle due to sin, addiction and other short-comings. It is when we grow through these obstacles that we gain the strength, through God’s grace to help others.

Due to your victory over sin / weakness in your life you were able to help others with the same struggles.

Personality types are evaluated by many different systems. In BRANCHES we discuss only a few but we neither declare that these are superior or that they are the only way to do it. Nevertheless, you should  be able to evaluate peoples personalities as every personality has strengths and weaknesses. Every personality is prone to certain behaviors and actions. Although we don’t endeavor to box people in, determining a personality type can go a long way to helping a person find his worth and connect to people for instance.

You can identify personality types with your team members that enables you to serve the Kingdom by using your team members within their strengths. These personalities could be identified by different assessment programs such as

  1. DISC
  2. Type Explorer
  3. Eneagram

The Five Fold ministry is addressed in Ephesians 4. The Bible is clear that only some are appointed to these 5 positions. People can not just BE one of the Five Fold. Some recognition of this appointment by a representation of the Body of Christ is critical.

You can identify peoples weaknesses through understanding their personality types that enables you to serve the Kingdom more effectively be. These personality types could be identified by different assessment programs such as

  1. DISC
  2. Eneagram

The Book of revelation uses the terms Kings and Priests in describing the people in the Kingdom of God. In BRANCHES we use these two groups to clarify people that do different things in the Kingdom of God.

There are those who focus on the economic development which we identify as Kings and those who focus on restoring and advancing the relationship of people with God which we identify as Priests.

Although we use these terms similar to the old testament positions it speaks more to how you will influence the Kingdom of God primarily.

The list of personality disorders are unlimited. Although we discuss some of them, we don’t intend that any believer should know them all and understand the complexities behind them. However, during the course of our lives we learn to know the most common ones. Some of them can be demonic by nature and others are chemical imbalances treatable like the common cold.

Identifying these disorders are critical to helping our own disciples that might be struggling with this.

I feel equipped to identify personality disorders within my disciples and then to provide guidance towards help for them. These disorders could be identified as

  1. Sociopath
  2. Psychopath
  3. Obsessive compulsive disorder/s

Brain Dominance is the way in which you think about things. You might be a person who are more mathematical or more emotional. The way in which you approach everything could be captured in an evaluation of your brain dominance.

You can identify your own Brain Dominance which enables you to serve the Kingdom more effectively because you understand your own strengths and weaknesses.

The list of personality disorders are unlimited. Although we discuss some of them, we don’t intend that any believer should know them all and understand the complexities behind them. However, during the course of our lives we learn to know the most common ones. Some of them can be demonic by nature and others are chemical imbalances treatable like the common cold.

Identifying these disorders within yourself is very important. Especially to understand your own limitations.

In BRANCHES one of the Ministry Tools that has been given to us is Natural Abilities. These refer to practical abilities most have been born with. However, people tend to be especially gifted at some of these abilities. A good example might be that many people could sing but only some are really gifted singers. You can teach most people natural abilities with hard work and dedication but they will never be spectacular. Gifted people can do extremely well with some training. Finding your Natural abilities are a source of strength to your other tools.
