Some thoughts on REACH … and Swaziland
Hi Blaze friends,
My first try at Blogging … God has been talking to me about REACH for a few months. For those of you that don’t know, REACH form part of Blaze Team’s Core Values: Family, Reach, Unmerited Favor, Integrity and Team.
Some of the definitions of REACH are, “to stretch out”, “extend” or “to stretch after something”. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” This means that they STRETCHED out and took hold of God, not keeping anything behind … their lives…soul…
God also reminded me of 2 Thess. 2:14, “He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News, now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Yes, that is correct – we actually have to GO OUT and SHARE the Good News. That is what is expected of each and everyone of us. Just in case you were wondering, that is the calling and mission we as saints share.
In Matt. 28:18-20 you will find the Great Commission, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”
We need to stretch out and take hold of God; then stretching out, REACHING out to others and share God with them, share the Truth with them. And that means to get off that couch called your comfort zone and actually reaching out to the people around you – at work, play, the neighboring town and yes even another country.
I challenge you to REACH out to those who don’t know God and to share Him, share Christ. There’s so many lost souls out there, waiting for us to reach out to them. Let us be one generation that praise His works to another, and declare His mighty acts (Ps. 145:5). Don’t wait for something to happen, make it happen. Time is running out!
I pray that you will discover the passion for others in your heart and that you will answer to God’s voice: “And then I heard the voice of the Lord said: Who shall I send? Who will go for us? And I said: Here I am, send me!” (Is. 6:8) One of my heroes says in a song, “I will go. I will live the life, I’ll give it all for Jesus Christ, I’ll tell the world that You are God. I will go, hear my battle cry, give me wings so I can fly and tell the world that You are God.” (Desperation Band – I will go)
Yes, we will be reaching out to the people of Swaziland! Blaze Team will be there from 19 to 22 February 2009 – please keep us in your prayers. Pray for traveling mercies, the Holy Spirit to go ahead and prepare the way for us, favor with God and favor with men and whatever the Holy Spirit leads you to pray. Please feel free to post any scripture, prophetic word or message – we will not be able to do this without the support and prayers of our family in Christ.
We’ll keep you posted from Swaziland!
